Baby Sign Language: Christmas, Santa Claus, Tree, and Gift in American Sign Language

Christmastime

Teach your baby the signs for the words Christmas, Santa Claus, tree, and gift in baby sign language with the following descriptions and videos.

Christmas

Form the letter C of the sign language alphabet in front of the face. Rotate the hand down and back up towards the face.

Santa Claus

Form both hands into claws. Hold the claws on either side of the chin. Make two half circles with each hand while moving the hands away from the body. The motion outlines a beard.

Tree

Hold one arm at waist level with the palm of the hand facing up. Place the elbow of the other hand on the palm. Rotate the arm back and forth in the motion of a tree waving in the wind.

Gift

Form the letter X of the sign language alphabet with both hands. Hold the hands in front of the chest. Move the hands forward in an arcing motion.
